Turmeric Juice Is Equivalent To 60 Minutes Of Exercise

Nowadays, more and more research is done on turmeric, and researchers are even more interested in its healing abilities.
There are more than 5,000 studies on the root’s ability to treat cancer, depression, arthritis and diabetes better than drugs.
A recent study discovared that a teaspoon of turmeric taken on a daily basis has the ability to reduce heart attack risk just as effectively as three 60-minute workouts a week.
Study Details
One study conducted on 32 postmenopausal women lasted for 8 weeks. The women were assigned to either an exercise group, a turmeric group or a control group that underwent no change in diet or exercise. The Researchers used an ultrasound device to assess the endothelium (the inner lining of their blood vessels) of each woman. In fact, they measured flow-mediated arterial dilation to evaluate arterial elasticity, which determines blood vessels health.
The women that were in the turmeric group received the equivalent of 1 teaspoon of turmeric a day, while those in the exercise group practiced supervised aerobic exercise training 2-3 times a week plus an unspecified amount of home-based training, including cycling and walking. Each of the sessions lasted between 30 to 60 minutes and ranged in intensity between 60-75% of maximal heart rate.
Both the groups experienced significantly improved endothelial function. Their results were actually almost identical, which proves that the consumption of turmeric on a daily basis had the same effect as daily exercise in preventing, reducing or perhaps even reversing endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis.
No Surprise
The study was inspired by 2012 study from the Chiang Mai University of Thailand that found that turmeric could reduce the frequency of heart attack after coronary artery bypass by 56%.
Turmeric was administered on a daily basis for 3 days before the surgery and continued for 5 days after the surgery. The reason why the spice impacts the cardiovascular system is due to modulating C-reactive protein, plasma maondialdehyde, and N-terminal pro-B-type naturietic peptide levels.
Thai researchers concluded: “The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects of curcuminoids may account for their cardioprotective effects shown in this study…curcuminoids decrease proinflammatory cytokines during cardiopulmonary bypass surgery and decrease the occurrence of cardiomyocytic apoptosis after cardiac ischemia/reperfusion injury in animal models.”
As you can see, turmeric had the ability to decrease inflammation and protect endothelium cells against damage and death.
In order to protect yourself from cardiovascular problems, all you have to do is to take a teaspoon of turmeric powder or a glass of freshly squeezed turmeric juce on a daily basis. You should take the spice with coconut or olive oil and black pepper, in order to get the best results.
You can make your own capsules if you don’t like the taste of turmeric. . Just make sure not to mix it with other medications.
It should also be mentioned that you shouldn’t stop exercising if you are taking turmeric. Everyone should try to spend at least 30 minutes a day being active to stay fit and healthy.
