Be Your Own Dentist! Here Are Tricks To Remove Tartar Buildup At Home

Tartar is actually a mineral deposit on your teeth which will increase with time, if left untreated. Moreover, it can even cause some serious problems like periodontitis. Paying a visit to your dentists is probably the best solution, but if you are prevented in some way, you can remove tartar at home.
To do so, you will need:
  • Baking soda
  • Toothbrush
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Cup
  • Dental pick
  • Antiseptic mouth wash
Baking soda is the most popular and effective tool for removing plaque.
Step 1:
First of all, you need to prepare a mixture with half a teaspoon salt and one tablespoon of baking soda. Next, you should wet the toothbrush with warm water and dip it into the mixture. In the end, scrub your teeth with it and spit. Continue the same process for five minutes.
Step 2:
Mix a cup full with hydrogen peroxide with ½ cup of warm water and rinse your mouth for one minute, then spit and rinse with ½ cup of cool water.
Step 3:
Use a dental pick in order to rub the yellow tartar from the teeth. However, you should be very careful not to scrape the gums because it may irritate and damage them.
Step 4:
Use an antiseptic mouth wash to rinse your mouth and repeat every other day.
Here are some other advices to help you keep your beautiful smile.
Strawberries and Tomatoes
The reason why strawberries and tomatoes are great for oral health is because they are a rich source of vitamin C. All you have to do is to rub these fruits directly onto your teeth and let it sit for 5 minutes. This way the tartar build-up will soften.
After that, you should rinse your mouth with baking soda mixed with warm water. Instead of strawberries and tomatoes, you can use other food that contains vitamin C such as lime, oranges, papaya, berries and peppers.
Cheese
People should start consuming more Swiss or Cheddar cheese because consuming them before meals helps neutralize the acids that involve plaque creation. An ingredient in aged cheese works as a barrier agent.
There are plenty of other things you can add into your oral health routine:
  • Use a soft brush and brush your teeth on a regular basis, making vertical movements. You should also pay more attention on the space between gums and teeth.
  • Floss regularly.
  • Fight bacteria with an orange peel rub on teeth before going to bed and don’t rinse mouth
  • Consuming spicy food stimulates salivary glands. That way saliva cleans mouth in a natural way.
